Responsible for planning, implementing, and reporting on testing aspects of software products/projects. Develop test plans in coordination with product development and create test cases based on these requirements. Implement testing plans and test cases and present testing results. Create use cases, develop and maintain test specifications, test cases, test scripts and test data, implement test practices, standards and processes, troubleshoot test issues, record test results, track and prioritize defects, participate in release decisions and establish measures of test efficiency, effectiveness and product readiness. Experience with a test tracking software package is desired. 6+ years of prior software testing experience is required.
Responsibilities: In this QA position you will develop test strategies/plans/cases, maintain test environments, and execute significant network testing.
You will perform all tasks with a nominal amount of supervision.
Requirements:
Minimum 7 years software testing experience in a UNIX environment a including software application installation/configuration and basic UNIX system administration skills.
In depth problem analysis, trouble shooting and resolution skills of networking issues.
Knowledge of routers, switches, load balancers and the associated protocols TCP/IP, UDP etc.
A Plus - CCNA
Experience with testing HTTP/S and Apache a Experience with traffic generation and analysis tools.
A Plus - Knowledge of Ixia, Spirent, PacketStorm
Must be able to do some programming in scripting languages, like perl and/or python to create simple automation scripts.
Ability to perform requirement analysis and work independently to create test plans, test cases, test reports of good quality.
Experience with test tools such as: Quality Center and defect tracking tools a Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and test processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Education: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
