Virginia Premier Health Plan Enterprise Architect in Richmond, Virginia
Reporting to the Director of Information Systems & IT Projects, the Enterprise Architect will be responsible for facilitating the process of developing the ISOM technical architecture to support the business strategy in collaboration with business and technology leadership. The Enterprise Architect will document this using multiple architectural models or views that represent how the current and future needs of an organization will be met. The Architect will ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards. The Architect will define, develop, extend, alter and modify current architectures as new requirements arise.
Recommends and establishes the enterprise architecture strategies, processes, and methodologies.
Shares best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions.
Advise senior ISOM leadership on matters related to Enterprise IT Strategy, Architecture and Standards
Participate in architectural review functions and ensure adherence to technology standards and architecture.
Responsible for analyzing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives.
Analyzes enterprise business drivers to determine change requirements.
Analyzes current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvement such as improving business processes, expanding capacity, reducing time and cost, and increasing effectiveness.
Assist in enterprise wide research, evaluation, design and testing of new technologies that improve and enhance Enterprise Systems reliability, availability and serviceability.
Develop, maintain, and improve architectural artifacts, including reference architectures, future state architecture, guiding principles, roadmaps, patterns, standards, etc.
Collaborate with the various ISOM teams to ensure that technology decisions align with the overall Enterprise Architecture Roadmaps.
Review and guide the alignment of project bases solution architectures to the target future state architecture.
Maintain an organization-wide view of current and future business and application needs in support of company goals and objectives.
Facilitate the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns and IT best practices.
Keeps abreast of healthcare industry trends in addition to technology trends.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field…or equivalent experience
Enterprise Architecture framework (TOGAF, Zackman, FEAF), or comparable required
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILL
Understands architecture constructs (architecture/design patterns, SOAP, REST etc.) and development methodologies (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall etc.)
Understanding of various EA frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF, FEAF, etc)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: articulate and effective communicator and presenter, able to describe complex problems and solutions in simple or understandable terms
Demonstrates both strong analytic and big picture capabilities in problem solving approaches
Able to teach others and explain complex concepts with clarity, educating through knowledge sharing presentations and written documents
Demonstrated understanding of modern enterprise architecture
Strong knowledge of IT systems, practices and functional units
Ability to prioritize tasks and work with multiple priorities, sometimes under limited time constraints
Knowledge of HIPAA security and privacy standards preferred
3 years of experience in an Architecture role
Healthcare experience preferred
