Job Description This position will include the following functions: part-time tax, part-time fixed assets, part-time indirect rate calculation and special projects.
Coordinates or performs tax compliance functions to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting to government agencies and General Dynamics Corporate tax department.
Maintains the fixed asset system and supports reporting to management, government agencies and General Dynamics Corporate.
Generates indirect cost rate reporting consistent with applicable cost principles in the FAR, DFARS, and CAS.
Assists on special projects.
Reports to the Controller.
Assists in the preparation of annual Federal and State Corporate Tax Returns.
Prepares the following: Sales and Use Tax (Accounts Payable), Property Taxes (Fixed Assets), Information Returns (Forms 1099 and others), WOTC and Enterprise Zone Job Creation Grant, Other returns as required by Various taxing authorities.
Manages book tax accruals, schedules and documents, subject to review.
Prepares monthly indirect cost rates for review during month-end close.
Creates a tax forecasting model and provides annual/quarterly tax estimates.
Supports consolidation reporting to Corporate via Hyperiion.
Performs data collection, research, and analysis to support tax planning strategies.
Assists in tax audits with internal and external auditors.
Keeps up with tax laws and pursues tax training opportunities; Provides tax training to buyers, A/P and relevant contacts.
Manages the Fixed Asset System, including entering new fixed assets, removing assets and posting monthly depreciation expense under historical values, fair market malues per GAAP and values per tax basis.
Reconciles Fixed Asset Register balances to the General Ledger on a monthly basis.
Maintains leased real and personal property information and related contracts.
Assists in capital budgeting process; provide fixed asset projections and variance analysis between budgets and actuals.
Maintains (or creates) documentation for assigned tax processes.
Performs other special tax/fixed assets or research projects, as assigned.
Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or business-related field
CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
3-10 years of relevant accounting or tax experience.
Big 4 audit experience or publicly-listed company experience preferred.
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office applications is a must.
Ability and desire to learn about and help resolve corporate tax reporting issues
