Job Description Maintain NASSCO-Norfolk compliance with Company policy and procedure, Federal contracting regulations and generally accepted accounting practice. The Sr Compliance Auditor will provide support for NASSCO-Norfolk compliance reviews, Sarbanes Oxley activities, Defense Contract Audit Agency audits, special studies and other activities as required.
Will report to the Senior Manager Financial Reporting and Cash Management. The Compliance Auditor will interface with NASSCO-Norfolk personnel, GD Internal Audit, and Government representatives in support of NASSCO-Norfolk compliance reviews, government audits contract closeouts and other activities. Development of strong interpersonal and project management skills will lead to the successful completion of all responsibilities. With some supervision, the auditor will be expected to work independently and manage time effectively.
Assignments will be reviewed with the auditor''s supervisor.
Perform NASSCO-Norfolk compliance reviews to: determine if NASSCO-Norfolk is in compliance with current policy, determine if current policies and procedures are adequate and identify areas of risk. Perform evaluation of internal controls. Prepare audit work papers, schedules, and reports. Manage and maintain Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Support internal audit requests. Perform monthly overhead reviews for compliance with government regulations. Provide support for the preparation of the annual incurred cost submission. Perform evaluation of company compliance with Cost Accounting Standards and related regulatory requirements. Support the audits of incurred cost submissions, forward pricing rates, bids and proposals price, and all other financial-related FAR requirements. Support requests for information from government representatives in connection with DCAA audits. Maintain current documentation of processes in areas of responsibility. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Position requires a bachelor''s degree in accounting or business related field and 5 to 10 years of Audit or related work experience. Knowledge of Federal contracting regulations (FAR, DFAR and CAS) is beneficial. Certifications (CPA, CIA, CFE) are preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of NASSCO-Norfolk management and employees as well as Government representatives. The position requires ability to coordinate a variety of projects at the same time, while ensuring deadlines and goals are met. Reliance to protect employee highly sensitive data and information.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects or controls, and to talk and hear. The noise level is this environment is usually moderate.
