Red Hat Sales Account Manager - US Army in Mclean, Virginia

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Executive to join us in McLean, VA. In this role, you will help grow and develop our relationship with the United States Army. You’ll expand beyond our existing customer base within the Army, position and sell consulting services as the key driver for a fast adoption of our core competencies, and cross-sell our offerings across technologies. As a Sales Account Executive, you'll need to have an excellent combination of customer-facing consulting skills and deep technical knowledge of enterprise software, including a core understanding of operating systems, virtualization, middleware deployments, and cloud computing.
Primary job responsibilities
Work closely with the account solutions architects to identify key projects, programs, and offices to influence toward buying Red Hat's solutions
Manage the account planning process and completion of strategic plans
Be a trusted adviser for senior IT and business executives within key accounts and create a long-term partnership with these customers
Develop new solutions strategies within key accounts to establish proofs of concepts and pilot implementations of Red Hat's core competencies
Work closely with product, product engineering, professional services, and product support teams to ensure exceptional customer experience with Red Hat's offerings
Background in delivering complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology environment
8+ years of field sales experience, with 4+ of those years specifically focused on the United States Army; relationship with the United States Army PEO EIS, Army Cyber, the Global Combat System, or other critical Army IT components is a plus
Track record of working closely with customers to produce solutions that exceed their business expectations
Extensive background in consultative customer engagement with either a major provider of enterprise software or in the sales division of an enterprise software reseller
Broad experience with the government acquisition process, specifically the United States Army's IT acquisition process
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Extensive experience presenting to C-level executives and project managers from both the United States Army and its industry partners
Ability to maintain a solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple products and services
Proven ability to work seamlessly with global cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
Excellent balance of strategic and tactical skills and creative thinking
Ability to coordinate and work well in an overall team focused on sales to a large complex customer
Management experience is a plus
