Job Description
SUMMARY
The Senior Electronics Technician
(SrET)shall perform a
wide range of technical examinations and analyses required tosuccessfully exploit
improvisedelectro-magneticcomponents and devices
submitted. Theseexaminations and analyses include, but are not limited
to,physical
device description, functional analysis, radio frequency (RF) and
signal characterization,electronic data recovery, schematics, and associations of
devices.
TheSrETwill review for integrity and completeness of the
characterization datacollected by technical staff. This review will include the
integration andverification of archival data into new or updated
databasesas directed by the Program Manager (PM) on behalf of
the United States Government (USG) customer.
TheSrETwill provide technical editing, including enforcement of
applicable style guidesand directives, application of Standard English grammar
rules and usage, as well as themaintenance and
modification, as directed by thePM. Alltechnical reports shall be
reviewed prior to publication or dissemination. At the direction of
thePM, other documents may require technical
editing.

DUTIES
· Develop accurate schematics of complicated
devices in various physical conditions
· Accurately identify electronic components
visually and research information
· Accurately identify and enter device/component
characteristics into databases and other analytical
tools
· Develop tools and techniques for analyzing
improvised electro-magnetic components and devices
· Analyze electronic circuits and schematics to
determine functionality.Solder/De-solder delicate through-hole and surface-mount
electronic components
EDUCATION
Ten
years’ experience with electronic / computer equipment,
electronic analysis, development of schematic drawings using circuit
design programs, soldering / de-soldering skills, and a minimum of
one year direct experience with improvised electro-magnetic device
analysis is required. Associates degree from an accredited college or
university in a technical discipline is preferred; however, four
additional years of commensurate specific experience in lieu of a
degree; or specialized military/commercial training and two
additional years of specific experience.
