Overview:
Under very general direction, independently determine approach to material planning objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices. Develop detailed material plans and schedules (Integrated Master Schedules - IMS) from program requirements and MBOMs to determine time-phased material acquisition and production floor schedule needs. Coordinate the flow of work between or within departments to expedite production or as a basis for materials acquisition. Responsible for ensuring materials are available and ready for production use when needed to support program requirements. Provide interdepartmental coordination among other functional disciplines. Other primary responsibilities include master scheduling of work flow in the plant, coordinating flow of materials to the shop floor and delivery of finished product.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
60% - Develop and maintain Material Program plans, schedules (using MS Project or equivalent software required by Enterprise policies and Corporate Project ONE initiatives) and monitor functional progress against established schedules utilizing established MRP methodologies and the Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for both Production and Development programs;
10% - Coordinate and maintain material acquisition and fabrication status with other functional departments;
10% - Execute priorities for incoming inspection to allow materials to be released for use in production;
5% - Report on material availability shortages to functional departments and management;
5% - Coordinate end item delivery with other departments;
5% - May perform some cost accounting functions;
5% - Other duties as assigned.
These are considered essential duties and are illustrative of those job tasks that an Employee may be required to perform. Preferred job skills / experience include: Experience with an automated MRP system (Oracle preferred), MS Project, Understanding of the integration of MBOMs, MRP, and shop floor management (WIP).
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and six (6) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Proficiency in the use of productivity software (ERP systems and MS Project), including the Microsoft Office Suite, is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
