Chesterfield County Recreation Activity Specialist II (Ettrick Comm. Center) in Chesterfield, Virginia

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED with some experience leading recreation activities for various populations; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Good oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Good driving record required. Must not reflect a total accumulation of six or more negative points within the past three years or a major violation within the past four years. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.


This position provides an opportunity to work in a great environment with a variety of tasks through providing support to staff and customers of the Mayes-Colbert Ettrick Community Center. The Ettrick Community Center offers a variety of programs to residents. Each season, there is a wide range of programs for youth, adults and older adults. This position assists with programs and related activities. In addition, tasks include organizing, maintaining and distributing supplies and equipment; working with community volunteers and civic groups; answering phones and other clerical duties; processing registrations and rentals; providing customer service to visitors and facility users; and after activity cleaning. Perform other work as required.


28 hours/week; shift varies Monday - Friday; includes some evenings and weekends.
