Summary :

The Items Processing Team Lead is responsible for the daily operational management of Inclearing Files, Branch Transaction Files, ATM Transaction Files, Mobile Transaction Files, related images for these files, FRB Cash Letter remittance, Back Counter, Branch Support relating to teller work, Institution Balancing, and daily totals tracking. In addition, the Team Lead is focused on strategic development and improvement of functions that support Item Processing personnel in providing services and assistance to the branches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Performs intermediate to advanced duties related to one or more of the following operational background functions serviced by the department

  • Follow and assist with implementation of all directives, policies, procedures and changes in regulations pertaining to Items Processing

  • Develop and manage working relationships with Internal Bank employees to analyze problem situations as they arise and involve the appropriate level of management as needed

  • Provide management reports outlining the department's processing metrics and trending processing volume data to advise the Deposit Operations Manager when staffing requirements/needs may have changed

  • Responsible for performing additional intermediate to advanced operational duties in support of the Items Processing department; assist employees, officers and other branch personnel in performing their duties if applicable

  • Function as a team member and carry out duties and responsibilities assigned to the team

  • Serve as a resource and content expert to team members; providing them with guidance and being available to answer questions to clarify the work activities

  • Manage and support all cross training initiatives to ensure the proper backup for Items Processing Associates as necessary to expedite the workflow

  • Coordinates with Information Technology, Deposit Operations, Branch Operations and other departments to facilitate procedural changes when applicable

  • Reviews and works with the Deposit Operations Manager to update procedures and policies as needed and may assist in assuring quality control in regards to audits and certifications

  • Utilize and maintain department checklists, forms and spreadsheets

  • Operates computer terminal or personal computer within given authority.

  • Perform detailed research for discrepancies to resolution

  • Provide recommendations with regards to branch operations performance of teller work receipt

  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations

  • Responds to inquiries or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person; exhibits the necessary follow through with staff involved.

  • Provides effective customer service to branches while assisting in resolving issues within given authority

  • Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank's goals and values

  • Assist the Deposit Operations Manager with overseeing Items Processing day to day activities and operational projects

  • Provides leadership, guidance and support to Items Processing staff regarding issues and/or procedural changes that may arise

  • Other duties as assigned
