General Dynamics Information Technology Firewall Engineer with TS/SCI required in Chantilly, Virginia
Experience with firewall policy design and maintenance. Familiarity with monitoring firewall devices and response to device problems.
Hands on experience with configuring and deploying network equipment.
Troubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and external resources.
Be responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting changes to the network including cable infrastructure, network software and hardware.
Provide detailed documentation and procedures for all solutions.
Analyzing and recommending the purchase of network equipment.
Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.
Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.
Lead deployment planning and implementation tasks
Lead configuration management and develop processes to track system and signature change
Provide technical assistance with the build; maintenance; and troubleshooting of IDS
Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technical staff members, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
Have experience with multi-tasking providing on ground support to a critical Security Operations center
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
Proficiency with TCP-IP and IPv4; IPv6 desired
Ability to manage multiple ongoing firewall change requests
Hands-on firewall changes, updates, and upgrades
General network security and system security experience
Ability to discuss troubleshooting; problems and solutions encountered
8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
