Overview

This position is responsible for completing schedules and ensuring that member transports are accomplished in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

MEMBER OPERATIONS

As a managed care organization, the areas within Member Services play a major role for our members. Our ability to enroll and then welcome our members, secure their information, answer questions, assign primary care Physician’s and provide transportation to and from appointments is critical to the health and lives of our members.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the coordination and implementation of timely, efficient and cost-effective transportation services by Premier vendors.

  • Route transports in a manner that will decrease member wait time and be limited to no more than thirty (30) minutes following an appointment

  • Comply with company policies and procedures

  • Create schedules for company drivers and external vendors

  • Serve as liaison between transportation and other VA Premier Health Plan Departments

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients scheduling transportation and inquiring about previously scheduled transportation

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

  • Valid driver’s license issued in the Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Familiar with 2-way radio operations/procedures

  • Ability to read a city street map and develop an effective schedule

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Good driving skills

WORK BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent driving record

  • Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills

  • 1 Year Dispatching experience preferred

  • Experience with scheduling software preferred

  • Computer proficiency required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
